      <image:title>About - Hi, I’m Dr. jess</image:title>
      <image:caption>My experiences growing up on a farm gave me a strong appreciation for the natural world around me. In my teen years I thought this meant going into conservation biology and saving the planet through ecology, but I soon realized my real calling was to change the world by changing the lives of those around me. My practice moto is ‘change for the better.’ This has so many different meanings behind it. It represents changing yourself for the better: better diet, better lifestyle, better relationships, but it also means changing your attitude, and the world around you. I want my practice to be as environmentally friendly as possible, and to have a minimal carbon footprint. I want it to represent the change we want to see in the world: more inclusive, less judgment, less negative environmental impacts, and more joy.  I believe that to change yourself for the better means you need to eat food that feeds not only your body, but also your soul. Eat all the veggies and the whole grains, but also treat yourself once in a while. Have that piece of chocolate or a handful of chips. It’s ok to have a job where you sit for the majority of the day, but make sure you get up and move everyday: walk the dog, do yoga, hike through a nearby forest. Life is about balance, and recognizing this, as well as the importance of the world around you, will help you bring about positive change in your life! I want patients to be able to depend on me. Depend on me to be there, to listen, to research until I come up with an answer, and to fight for their health. I want them to know that I am always on their side, and that I have their best interest at heart.</image:caption>
